Born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, William E. Barnes, Jr. (Bill) has an intimate knowledge of neighborhoods, communities, and commercial properties throughout the greater Washington metropolitan area. He began his work in the industry in 1979 as a broker for Cardinal Real Estate and, by the age of 28, had reopened his father’s original business. At this point, they had already earned membership in the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS® Lifetime Top Producers Club.
After graduating from The University of Mississippi with a BBA in Real Estate in 2017, Bill's son, Taylor J. Barnes, joined the family business after becoming a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. Since becoming licensed in 2017, Taylor has become a member of the NVAR Top Producers club, receiving five consecutive NVAR Top Producer awards. Taylor is very involved in the Alexandria community. He is a long time board member of Rotary Club of Alexandria, where he was named The 2024 Rotarian of The Year. Taylor was also a recipient of The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40 under 40 award in 2024.
In February of 2024, Taylor took over the family business, becoming the Principal Broker and Owner of the firm his grandfather started in 1957.
